CONTEXT/CONTENT is a micro-urbanism, and exhibition, that disrupted the Taubman College Student Commons. As civic issues grow in complexity, urban design becomes increasingly important in the realm of the built environment. Yet in spite of this dynamic, urban design is still widely held to be a practice rather than a discipline. This project explored methods of critical discourse around urban design by leveraging multiple formats of engagement. The installation included a series of mapping diagrams, a temporary library, a documentary, and a video projection prompting further discourse around an expanding field.
